Ukrainian MP appreciates United Sikhs for extending help in the face of adversity

ChandigarhWe are deeply touched by a Ukrainian journalist’s remarks, who expressed gratitude for the humanitarian efforts of the Sikh community in Ukraine. Such stories of appreciation warm our hearts and exemplify the community's unwavering dedication to selfless service, said Hardayal Singh, Programme Director, United Sikhs.

Singh said, “In addition to our ongoing relief initiatives, we remain committed to offering tactical medicine training to civilians in Ukraine. So far this training has equipped over 500 people with essential medical skills to assist other civilians injured or wounded in the conflict, potentially saving countless lives. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their invaluable support in making these efforts possible. May we all continue to follow the path of ‘Recognizing the human race as one’.”

Deeply moved by the Ukrainian journalist's heartfelt thanks to the Sikh community’s humanitarian efforts, United Sikhs continue to stand strong in the face of adversity, providing vital humanitarian aid, relief camps, bomb shelters and tactical medicine training to empower thousands of individuals. The international not-for-profit organization is thankful to the community, volunteers and donors for their support.

Ukraine MP, Yevheniia Kravchuk also expressed her appreciation, saying, “Contribution of organizations like United Sikhs should be recognized and celebrated globally for standing up for humanity. Our sincere thanks to United Sikhs for their unconditional help.”

Hardayal Singh further said that since the onset of the war in Ukraine, United Sikhs has been tirelessly working to provide food, shelter, and medical care to those affected. We have established relief camps along the Polish-Ukrainian border and dispatched teams to deliver emergency aid and we have also set up bomb shelters in the warzone.”

Meanwhile, a LinkedIn post by Ravinder Singh Robin, a journalist from Amritsar, is gaining wide attention, in which he wrote, “During the G20 Summit, John McGovern, a senior journalist from Ukraine, suddenly held my hand tight. Only later he said that he always makes it a point to thank the Sikh community for the immense humanitarian help rendered during the war in Ukraine. It's truly heartwarming to hear such stories. The Sikh community is known worldwide for its principles of selfless service and humanitarian efforts.”
