Manmohan Khanna wins Indian Institute of Architects poll

Ar Manmohan Khanna, Chairman, Indian Institute of Architects, Chandigarh Chapter

Chandigarh: Architect Manmohan Khanna has been elected as the Chairman of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Chandigarh Chapter, for the term 2023-25, in the recently concluded elections. He holds the distinction of being the Founder Chairman of this newly created Chapter, founded in the year 2015, and continued to head the unit till 2021.

The installation ceremony programme was sponsored by JK Cement. Gopal Krishan, State Head, Sales and Marketing, JK Cement, and Amit Aggarwal, State Head, Technical, JK Cement and their team were present at the programme, who distributed the gifts also.

Ar. Manmohan Khanna has also been the Founder Chairman of Chandigarh Centre of the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID) for 4 years during 2015-19.

The newly elected team of the Chandigarh Chapter of IIA comprises Ar. Rakesh Kumar Bansal (Vice-chairman). Ar.Ashok Juneja and Ar. Sayam Bahga (Joint Secretary), and Ar. Anju Bala (Treasure). The other members of the executive body include Ar. Shelja Gupta, Ar. Umesh Kumar Gupta, Ar. Ramanjit Kaur, Ar. Sudha Ojha, Ar. K P Singh, Ar. A P Singh, Ar. Sanjay Tripathi, Ar. Shivani Gupta, Ar. Shuman Kaushik and Ar. Seema Rajpal.

Ar. Manmohan Khanna said, “The two years of the newly elected team shall be used for promoting the ideas, ideals, objectives, and goals defined by The Indian Institute of Architects. For promoting the profession of architects and taking care of the interests of the professional architects.”

He further elaborated that the Chapter will hold discussions, seminars, and deliberations focusing on sustainable growth and development. The Chapter will involve local residents in the march toward sustainable development of urban settlements. In this endeavor the Chapter will work in close collaboration with sister professional institutes including the Institute of Engineers, and the Indian Institute of Interior Designers (IIID), to achieve the objective of sustainability.
